  • These interactive programs can be conducted on site at the Local History Room in Sparta or can be brought to your classroom (anywhere in Monroe County).
  • All programs correlated to Wisconsin Model Academic Standards.
  • The Local History Room provides most, if not all, of the materials used in the programs, and provides all of its own equipment.
  • There is no charge for Local History Room programming.
  • During each program, students will listen to a presenter, look at images, handle objects, and participate in physical activities. Always inform us of any special-needs students so that we may make any necessary adaptations.
  • Programming is designed to serve an average classroom size of 15-25 students. Other sizes can be accommodated for certain programs.
  • Please call at least three weeks in advance to schedule a program.
  • The Deke Slayton Space and Bicycle Museum shares a building with the Local History Room and also provides educational programming (for a fee). To visit both sites in one trip call: 608-269-0033.
