1860  Orphan Trains comes to Sparta 1867     1878 State Board of Charities Recommends Sparta for State School Cottages B,C, and D were built 1885     1886 State Public School established in Sparta, Wisconsin Administration Building was built 1887     1888 Cottages A and E were built A Laundry facility was built 1891     1900 As of September 30, 2,221 Children live at State School, a garage and lumber storeage was also built Cottage H was built 1904     1912 Cottages F and G were built Superintendent's building was built 1922      1925 Primary school and farm was built Secondary school and cottage L was built 1927      1929 A boiler house was built Another garage and extra storeage building was built along with an Infirmary 1932     1937 Cottage M was built The Wisconsin State School was renamed the Wisconsin Child Care Center 1947     1951 Another storeage building was constructed along with a gymnasium A garage was built 1960     1967 The Child Care Center was transferred to the Department of Health and Social Services July 1, 1976 the Child Care Center closed it's doors for good 1976
