
The Monroe County Historical Society Inc is charted exclusively for education, to preserve, advance and disseminate the knowledge of the history of Monroe County, WI. It is a non profit membership organization under the direction of a board of directors.
NEWSLETTER:
MCHS publishes a quarterly newsletter featuring organizational news and items of historical interest. This newsletter is free to members.
HISTORIC PRESERVATION:
MCHS was instrumental in establishing the Monroe County Local History Room and Deke Slayton Memorial Space & Bicycle Museum (now both distinct and separate organizations). Currently, MCHS owns and operates the Big Creek Church as a historical site. The future plans of MCHS include obtaining and operating a vintage one-room school house as a learning environment for school children.
GRANT PROGRAMS:

MEMBERSHIP:
Annual dues are $8.00 individual (annual), $10.00 family, $75.00 Life Membership (age 55 or older), $150.00 Life Membership (under age 55).
